Young Antiques
This exhibition explores how the symbolic space of OCHORYANG (五抄莊) and the traces of time embedded in antique objects reflect and harmonize with contemporary materiality.
The texture of the newly crafted brass fixtures, finished by hand to evoke a sense of craftsmanship, brings into sharper relief the depth of time held within an aged brass tobacco box, darkened over many years.
The bronze-tinted glass fixtures quietly reflect both the surrounding space and the forms of the antique objects, gently expanding the boundaries between them.
The arrangement of the objects was also carefully considered in relation to the spatial structure of OCHORYANG.
Brass objects are positioned to be seen through the window openings of the inner partition, allowing their presence to emerge naturally along the viewer’s line of sight.
We invite you to take your time experiencing the aesthetics of the relationships formed between objects and space.
